Mr. Ravikiran ANNASWAMY, Vice President of IEEE TEMS, addressed the opening remark by sharing his ideas regarding commercialization of technology, having highlighted the significance of cross-border collaboration between different entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Dr. Nikola ZIVLAK, Associate Professor of emlyon business school Asia Campus, delivered a presentation titled “The roles of international ecosystem in helping the technology entrepreneurs”. He pointed out that the world is now combating the real challenge of COVID-19, which brought both threats and opportunities to technology entrepreneurship. In such case, the international entrepreneurship ecosystem, such as IEIE, continues to play an important role.
Three panel discussions were organized during the two days’ event, involving the academics, the professionals and the experts from different institutions located in China, Germany, India, Norway, Singapore, Thailand, UK and USA to discuss on different issues such as international networking, technology entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, underlining the points that the Pandemic has brought about not only the severe crises but also the perfect opportunities to realize global collaboration among different ecosystems. They also pointed out that social business can address social problems, for example, offering more education opportunities virtually. Furthermore, the panelists talked about how cutting-edge technology could bring about convenience with affordable cost, especially in the domain of healthcare.
IEW2021 is more than an online forum including keynote speeches and panel discussions. This year, a new initiative has been implemented for the purpose of exploring the roles of ecosystems in helping the startups go international or localize their business in China. The networking strengths of IEEE TEMS and IEIE have been utilized to create the linkage between entrepreneurs and ecosystems in terms of mentoring, matchmaking and localization / internationalization, which is highly appreciated by the startups involved in industry 4.0 or sustainable technology.
